Classes are only open to UVM students, faculty, staff and approved Boston Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coaches and affiliates.
A typical class will run for about 1 ½ hours. It consists of a warm up, stretching, demonstration and explanation of technique, guided practice with partner, mat work, conditioning and cool down.
Please wear comfortable long pants (track, workout or gi/kimono pants) and tee shirt. A martial arts uniform (gi/kimono) is ultimately recommended for gi nights. A long or short sleeve shirt and shorts and track pants or shorts are recommended for no-gi nights.
No shoes may be worn during class (without instructors permission). An athletic supporter and cup is recommended for men. A mouth guard is highly recommended for all.
All classes for the first month will be gi/uniform classes.
All classes are in UVM Mann Gymnasium (starting 1/16/2008)
The mission of our club is to provide students with the opportunity to learn and practice the effective grappling methods from Brazil for the purpose of self defense and fitness in a safe and positive environment.
Contact Coach Vince Guy for more information.
New gi order will be taking place at the end of January. Make sure you place your order before then.
